Boarding Australia .......
1. Has a proactive Executive whose qualifications, expertise and experience enable them to advise and assist in all areas pertaining to student boarding facilities.
2. Maintains an office and resource centre to assist members.
3. Prepares informative newsletters at least 5 times per year.
4. Facilitates opportunities to share ideas, knowledge and information by means of
• A regular newsletter;
• Convening Annual Training Forums;
• Developing and delivering the AQF nationally accredited certificate IV in Community Services Work CHC40708. Dr Steve and Jennifer Florisson have worked tirelessly to establish this important resource. They are currently delivering training around the country;
• Presenting Regional Training Forums where possible;
• Maintaining a newly-updated and proactive web site. This is currently under construction;
• Presenting discussion papers via the newsletter.
5. Prepares and presents programs that are very relevant to boarding facilities, such as:
• A Policy Resource Centre on the website;
• The ongoing development of standards for the boarding industry;
• The ongoing development of training programs for boarding staff.
6. Represents members at both Federal and State Government level.
