Reconnect – Providing Support and Opportunities for Young People and their Families.
Reconnect, an Australia-wide organisation, is a support service providing both telephone and face-to-face assistance to young people between the ages of 12 and 18 who are having difficulties in their life. Staff work with these young people, their parents/guardians and families through individual and/or family counselling, mediation, information, education, advocacy and referral. It is a free and confidential service.
Reconnect can help young people to:
- Talk about hassles at home, school or work
- Work things out with their family and friends
- Link into training or employment options
- Get income support if eligible
- Find somewhere safe to stay (if needed)
Reconnect can help parents, guardians and families to:
- Work things out with the young person
- Find out the best way to talk things through
- Learn to live together when things are hard
- Learn to live apart but stay connected
