Access to Student Counselling Services

Reconnect – Providing Support and Opportunities for Young People and their Families.

Reconnect, an Australia-wide organisation, is a support service providing both telephone and face-to-face assistance to young people between the ages of 12 and 18 who are having difficulties in their life.  Staff work with these young people, their parents/guardians and families through individual and/or family counselling, mediation, information, education, advocacy and referral.  It is a free and confidential service.

Reconnect can help young people to:

  • Talk about hassles at home, school or work
  • Work things out with their family and friends
  • Link into training or employment options
  • Get income support if eligible
  • Find somewhere safe to stay (if needed)

Reconnect can help parents, guardians and families to:

  • Work things out with the young person
  • Find out the best way to talk things through
  • Learn to live together when things are hard
  • Learn to live apart but stay connected

Reconnect is funded by the Federal Department of Family and Community Services.
